Old photographs · village histories · community memory

Every old photograph holds a story not yet told.

Here we keep, organise and present the old photographs of rural communities: families, weddings, schools, work, celebrations, vanished homesteads and the faces of people we can still recognise.

The project is meant not only to show photographs, but to preserve their context.

An old photograph is most valuable when names, places, years, stories and the ties between people remain beside it. That is why the galleries are built as collections of community memory that we would like to share with others.

Preservation

Photographs are prepared for digital publishing while preserving their origin, authors, descriptions and their belonging to real albums.

Presentation

Every collection has a regular gallery and a 3D exhibition where the photographs are displayed as in an exhibition.

Community

The goal is to help recognise people, return names to the photographs and pass local history on to the future.
